As a child, teenager, and young adult, there was nothing Charlie loved more than going to the movies with their dad. They remember always being determined to get to the theater before the trailers started, because the trailers always gave them an itch to make movies one day.

After getting a bachelor's degree in creative writing with a minor in film studies, Charlie was lucky enough to train in a variety of set positions at Florida State University's College of Motion Picture Arts. While there, they directed three short films: Safe Word, It's Over, and Cut Short. You can read more about these here.

After leaving FSU Film, Charlie had the opportunity to take two directing courses through Sundance Co//ab, a community learning platform run by the Sundance Institute. The courses focused on core elements of directing as well as the more nuanced elements of visual storytelling.

Charlie is always looking for their next project or collaboration, so if you have an idea and would like to work together, please get in touch.

In addition to filmmaking, Charlie has always gravitated toward everything creative. Since 2017, they have used graphic design to help advertise and facilitate a wide variety of events, organizations, and personalities on social media.

Charlie also started drawing at a young age—mostly cartoons and comic book characters—but throughout middle and high school they had the opportunity to learn different techniques and mediums.

For the past decade, Charlie has leaned toward portraiture, using graphite pencils and occasionally ink to capture different faces and their unique histories.
